American Israel Chamber of Commerce and Young Israel of Toco Hills – Atlanta co-sponsored a breakfast lecture by Professor Sam Lehman- Wilzig, Deputy Director of Bar-Ilan University’s School of Communication entitled, “The Historical Roots of Israel’s High Tech Success in the Information Age.”
A noted author and speaker, Professor Sam Lehman-Wilzig discussed how Jewish history has prepared Israel to excel in the contemporary Information Age. Dr. Wilzig examined the topic through a Jewish cultural lens and outlined how community literacy, education, overcoming adversity and adaptation from an agrarian society to commerce all contributed to a modern society of innovators and entrepreneurs.
This event was part of the ‘Israel Up-Close 2014’ multi-city tour, a unique initiative organized by Bar-Ilan University’s School of Communication, which aims to present a comprehensive and objective picture of Middle East events and trends, encouraging audiences to view occurrences in Israel and the region within a larger context
