AICC Welcomes New Economic Consul

Members and guests gathered in downtown Atlanta on October 23rd to welcome Israel’s new Consul for Economic Affairs, Michal Niddam.  The Chamber-organized reception was organized by the was hosted by McKenna Long & Aldridge with support by the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast.

Niddam assumed her post at the Houston-based Israel Economic Office to the U.S. South in August upon the return to Israel of Roee Madai.  She has been with the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor since 2008 in a variety of positions including the East & Central Europe department, as director of the India-China Fund, and manager of the Ministry’s “200×2” program aimed at assisting companies from Israel’s peripheral regions to double their exports. Previous to her government work, she began her career at Bank Hapoalim.

While in Atlanta, AICC organized meetings for her with key economic development partners including the Metro Atlanta Chamber and TAG as well as with major corporations including Turner Broadcasting and Georgia Power while the Consulate arranged sessions for her with local business media and government.  She also participated in a meeting of the Chamber’s Hi-Tech Committee as a way for her to learn how AICC operates through its member-driven structure.

“Thank you for organizing the meetings during my visit to Atlanta. They were all very important, and I believe they will be fruitful for our upcoming mutual activities. This visit has proven again how important the collaboration between AICC and the Economic mission of MOITAL is,” Niddam said.
