American Israel Chamber of Commerce, SE Region receives the Global Partner – Organization award for its contribution to Metro Atlanta’s economic development. “We are truly honored to be recognized for this significant award by our valued economic development partner, the Metro Atlanta Chamber,” said AICC President Tom Glaser.
In the reason for nomination, Metro Atlanta Chamber cited that “in 2009, AICC’s economic development efforts included the successful recruitment of five Israeli companies to establish U.S. or regional operations in metro Atlanta. They successfully organized the Atlanta visit of Israel’s Minister of Industry, Trade & Labor, and the U.S.-Israel Telehealth Business Exchange in Atlanta. The Business Exchange brought together Israeli start-ups and Georgia companies, and exposed them to other U.S. companies to pursue business opportunities.The AICC also hosted a reception of 20 targeted Israeli delegates during BIO 2009 in Atlanta. Their successful business mission to Israel resulted in expanded business opportunities for local Atlanta companies”
The other finalists in this category included the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. The award was presented on Tuesday February 2nd at an impressive event with the presence of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, members of Atlanta Consular Core, and many of Atlanta business leaders.
