Her incredible support and passion for Israel as well as her leadership in the community and in business, are admired and honored. As a woman in this position, she is respected and emulated. Working with our partners from the South Carolina-Israel Collaboration, Conexx Women is proud to present an evening with Anita Zucker, Chair and CEO of The InterTech Group and the esteemed Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, Director of Business Development, CURI Office of Academic Affairs at Clemson University. The evening will feature a fascinating conversation with Anita and Elizabeth as they discuss international trade, the impact of the “Startup Nation,” and existing opportunities that every businesswoman should know about.
Conexx Women is Conexx’s newest venture to engage and connect women in the Southeast with Israel, business and other powerful women-influencers in the business world. The Conexx Women group has already had a variety of very successful events that have not only featured successful businesswomen and networking, but also discussions and conversations on timely, important and relevant topics for women today.
Conexx Women will also have their own focus areas on the upcoming Conexx Business Expedition to Israel (November 6-10, 2016). Participants can look forward to women-specific conferences and meetings with Israeli businesswomen on topics such as leadership in banking, investments, the life sciences, FinTech, and STEM/cybersecurity. Anita Zucker’s extraordinary achievements in business, her leadership in the community and her passion and dedication to Israel are well known and evident in her tremendous support of the South Carolina – Israel Collaboration and Conexx. She currently serves as the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of South Carolina based global conglomerate, The InterTech Group, Inc. (TIG). As one of the largest private companies in the United States, TIG and its affiliates operate in a diverse group of industries ranging from aerospace and specialty chemicals to real estate and entertainment. In 2008, she became the first female Governor (Chair) of The Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) in HBC’s 338 year history. Anita was named one of the 50 most prominent businesswomen in the world by the Financial Times.
Elizabeth Colbert-Busch is the Director of Business Development for Clemson University in the Office of Academic Affairs. She is responsible for the Clemson University Restoration Institute (CURI) for business and economic development through the university’s private/public partnership model. Colbert-Busch serves on many boards and committees including the Charleston Regional Development Alliance Board of Directors and Chairs, the DOE Southeast Regional Wind Resource Center, the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors and many others. She was named as one of the Top 20 Women in Transportation by the Journal of Commerce Shipping Digest.
For the Conexx Women group, Anita and Elizabeth are true role models on so many levels. As successful, working women, mothers and grandmothers, these women embody what many woman in the workplace strive for every day. There is no doubt that both Anita and Elizabeth will share many valuable lessons with the Conexx Women group as they discuss their impressive careers as well as the opportunities and challenges they encountered, and continue to encounter, as women in business.
