Dr. Eitan Yudilevich, Executive Director,Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation visited Atlanta to conduct a seminar hosted by the Metro Atlanta Chamber and for individual meetings with local corporations. MAC’s President Hala Modelmog and Vice President of Global Commerce Jorge Fernandez welcomed Dr. Yudilevich and praised the constructive relationship between MAC and Israel through the AICC.
The BIRD Foundation’s mission is to stimulate, promote and support industrial R&D of mutual benefit to the U.S. and Israel. The AICCSE is the Southeast representative for the BIRD Foundation. BIRD provides both matchmaking services between U.S. and Israeli companies, as well as funding covering up to 50 percent of project development and product commercialization costs. BIRD supports approx. 20 projects annually with a total investment of around $11 million per year. To date, BIRD has invested over $225 million in 690 projects, which have produced sales of over $8 billion.
Robert Keefe, SVP and CIO, Mueller Water Products presented Mueller’s experience in applying for a BIRD grant and seeking and securing an Israeli partner. Mueller Water Products, Inc. manufactures and markets products and services that are used in the transmission and distribution of safe, clean drinking water and in water treatment facilities throughout North America. Bob is responsible for creating and directing Mueller Water Products’ water technology and information technology strategies. Mueller was a recipient of a 2013 BIRD Foundation grant partnering with Water Flow Tech of Israel.
During his two day visit, Dr. Yudilevich met with metro Atlanta corporations interested in learning more about potential funding and partnering with Israeli companies.
