Founded in 1966 by the Israeli government, the Haifa company worked to utilize the natural Israeli resources of potash from the Dead Sea and phosphate rock found in Israel’s southern Negev region. Today, Haifa Chemicals manufactures and markets food additives, technical chemicals and specialty plant nutrients, including potassium nitrate for a variety of purposes including solar power plants and agriculture. The Haifa Group has built a new Controlled Release Fertilizer (CRF) plant in Savannah, Georgia. The project represents a $12 million investment, will create nearly 20 jobs and will be officially opening on May 5th, 2016.
