Our 2012-13 program year comes to a close at the end of this month. It has been another year of positive achievements amid the challenges and opportunities of change with the staff executive succession and new volunteer leadership to come. They have included meaningful assistance to Israeli and Southeast companies, completed transactions, educational and matchmaker events throughout the region, and delegations to Israel. We remain fiscally viable, and have some exciting new initiatives underway.
Our relationships with economic development partners in the Southeast and Israel are stronger than ever. We made significant progress to help young Israeli companies. And our representation of the BIRD Foundation has supported the grant applications of two joint venture R&D projects involving major Southeast corporations with Israeli technology companies. The deals this year were notable, exemplified by the finalists at the Eagle Star Awards Gala, always the highlight of each year.
It has been a great honor to serve as your President and Chairman. We’re very optimistic about the Chamber’s future under the leadership of our incoming Board Chairman Joel Neuman and the new professional staff leader who will be announced next month. Thank you all for this great privilege to lead the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce.
