Our Chamber has done a great job over the years helping Israeli companies penetrate the US market, particularly through business development activities such as mentoring, developing sales channels, and introducing them to customers and partners. More challenging for us has been securing investment in the Southeast for Israeli start ups.
A few years ago, we created an Investment Task Force to determine best ways for us to play a meaningful role in this aspect of assistance and provide new ways to connect in our region. We found an angel community that was receptive, especially with Israeli companies in specific sectors they understood, and certainly no shortage of Israeli companies seeking investment. However, the timing of the Great Recession put a damper on these activities.
We are ready to get back in the game. On March 28th, The Trendlines Group will bring to Atlanta a group of their portfolio companies seeking investment (article below). And AICC Executive Committee member, Randall Foster (Vumii), has agreed to chair a new Capital Funding Committee. Please let us know if you are interested in these activities.
