Among our strategies to generate Southeast-Israel business relationships, perhaps none is more important than organizing and supporting business missions to Israel. This past month, we were deeply involved with delegations from both Georgia and South Carolina, two of the six states in our region.
Led by Chris Cummiskey, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Georgia delegation had its focus on the WATEC conference where they met Israeli water technology companies and visited installations to learn from Israel’s deep experience in this sector. The South Carolina delegation was led by Jonathan Zucker, President of Charleston-based The InterTech Group, and included 26 participants from the state’s three research universities, companies, and economic development organizations.
Both delegations helped to raise the Southeast’s profile in Israel and generated business and economic development projects. We predict significant business will result, and are grateful to our Israeli friends and partners for their help in arranging the itineraries for these groups. We expect to organize at least two business missions to Israel in 2012, and hope you will consider participating. It will be an experience of a lifetime!
