Gilly Segal is a senior associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions Group. She focuses her practice in three related and interdependent areas of intellectual property: the exploitation of rights in technology through licensing, including negotiation of website development deals, hosting and escrow agreements, and content and data licenses and related consulting and services agreements; advertising and marketing laws, including negotiation of sports and celebrity sponsorship deals, filming location agreements, advice regarding online and print marketing campaigns, sweepstakes, contests and games of chance, and international laws regarding marketing through electronic communications such as email and SMS, and ad clearance; and advice regarding a variety of copyright and publishing issues, as well as licenses and agreements related to these matters. Her clients span a variety of Fortune 100 companies, small technology providers, advertisers in the home building, food service and technology sectors, and authors.
Gilly received her J.D. with honors from Emory University School of Law, with a certificate in intellectual property law in conjunction with Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in English literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prior to college, Gilly served in the Israel Defense Force.
