Report by Vikki Lisec (Data Logger Solutions) on the 2014 Israel Logistics Delegation

Data Logger Solutions, LLC was launched in 2014 as a new US authorized distributor of Fourtec-Fourier Technologies, Ltd, (Fourtec), an Israeli manufacturer.  The American-Israel Chamber of Commerce for the Southeast Region invited Data Logger Solutions, along with other Israeli logistics companies, to attend the Georgia Logistics Summit in Atlanta, Georgia and visit a few logistics businesses in Memphis, Tennessee.  The 3 day trip was exciting and packed full of events, presentations, exhibiting, networking, food, fun, and fellowship.

Memphis Tour

FedEx World Headquarters hosted the delegation, where informative presentations were given by Mr. Kinei Li, Manager, Life Sciences & Specialty Services and Mr. Nik Puri, VP IT Governance, Risk, Compliance.  The delegates each had an opportunity to speak of their products and interest, and a delicious lunch was served before departing.  Next, the delegates visited FTZ Networks at the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce.  Wayne Coleman, President & CEO spoke about Federal Trade Zone opportunities.  We then traveled to Medtronic, where Howard Mitchell, Director of Distribution Operations led us on a tour of the facility and talked about warehousing, inventory, and transportation methods.  The delegation then returned to FedEx at the airport hub zone to tour operations in the middle of the night as planes and packages were “flying”.

Georgia Logistics Summit

The delegation then traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to exhibit at the annual Georgia Logistics Summit on March 18 and 19.  The Summit included exhibitors for manufacturing, inventory management, technology, transportation, warehousing, packaging, labeling, and other logistics solutions providers.  There were three keynote speakers, along with over 100 educational sessions offered.  Data Loggers Solutions made notable contacts with attendees at the show from C.H. Robinson, UPS, FedEx, Merck, SEKO Logistics, Express-1, Walmart, Panalpina, and more.

Grant Thornton Hosts a Reception

The Israel delegation was hosted at a reception by Grant Thornton in midtown Atlanta.  There, each delegate gave a brief presentation, and we also heard from Grant Thornton and networked with AICCSE leaders and members.

Value Added

As an “Israeli” start-up, it was a creatively affordable way to network, exhibit and participate. We met potential clients and industry experts.   It was also a wonderful way to interact with our new Israeli friends.

On behalf of the Israel Logistics delegates, I wish to thank all of the people that made the events possible. Thank you for the time and effort spent in coordinating contacts, scheduling events, and showing gracious hospitality and kindness.  It was definitely a worthwhile experience, and we would encourage American-Israel companies to attend next year.
