NCR wins Georgia Governor’s Award for Acquisition of Retalix

AICC Nominates Winner of Atlanta  Business Chronicle 2013 Governor’s International Award International Deal of the Year

Nominated by AICC, the winner of the 2013 Eagle Star Deal of the Year Award, NCR, has also collected the prestigious “Atlanta Business Chronicle Governor’s International Award” for its acquisition of Ra’anna-based Retalix for $650 million. This NCR Corp.’s acquisition has proven to be an opportunity to grow its software, hardware and service offerings for retail industry.

NCR has expanded its in-store, omni-channel, point-of-sale and marketing capabilities available for retail clients.

Scott Kingsfield, senior vice president and general manager for retail at NCR, said the size of the deal and the impact on both companies make this a significant deal and one of the largest in Georgia in 2013.

With its software, hardware and portforlio of services, NCR enables more than 300 million transactions daily across the retail, financial, travel, hospitality, telcom and technology industries.

Awarded the Eagle Star Deal of the Year, AICC was impressed with the value to both NCR and Retalix which was one of the largest M&A transactions in Georgia.  NCR now has a powerful R&D team in Israel to develop the next generation of innovative back-end software solutions for NCR customers worldwide.  The addition of Retalix strengthens NCR’s global leadership position in the retail industry, building on their network of supermarkets, convenience stores, fuel, health/drug and department stores.
