Desiring to build connections in the Southeast, Tel Aviv-based Orange Blossom Ventures (OBV) joined AICC, and their Founder / Board Chairman Gil Makov used last month’s Eagle Star Awards Gala as the centerpiece of his initial visit to Atlanta. During the second week of June, he presented to the Chamber’s Professional Committee, and meetings were arranged for him with key members to explore potential synergies for his firm. According to Gil, the visit succeeded in meeting OBV’s objectives—to develop ongoing relationships with business professionals, investors, and the Chamber to benefit their Israeli portfolio clients.
OBV specializes in helping young Israeli technology and life sciences companies to find equity finance from quality funding sources. The firm chooses its start-up clients selectively, and maintains strong relationships with leading venture capitalists in Israel and abroad. Gil and his two sons, Dan (President), and Ariel (COO) are all legal professionals who were “bitten by the Start-Up bug”, and are incorporating their law competency, experience, vast network, and wide reaching personal access to Israeli and global funding sources with the excitement of working with cutting edge companies’ technologies.
“In this first visit to Atlanta, the quality acquaintances, the great courtesy of the AICC team, my discussions with the Chamber, and the meeting with the Professional Committee gave me a very positive and promising feeling towards the future,” said Makov. “I now understand why the Chamber has earned its high reputation and excellence. Our membership is already starting to advance some business initiatives.”
