Based on the success of an initial mission to Israel in November 2011, the South Carolina-Israel Collaboration, organized and operated by the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, SE Region, has announced plans for the 2nd South Carolina Business & Research Mission to Israel, December 1-6, 2012. During the week, participants will have the opportunity to explore business with Israel — the “Start Up Nation”— the acknowledged top entrepreneurial innovation country in the world.
Last year’s 26-person delegation included a “who’s who” of the state’s business, university, and economic development leaders. The mission produced more than 50 active projects and established a very positive impression of South Carolina among Israel’s media, government, and business communities. Articles in The Jerusalem Post and Israel 21c documented the accomplishments on this exciting trip.
“Based on the success of our first mission and the excellent follow up that generated several deals and business and research relationships, we anticipate that the 2012 mission will produce continued momentum and results for both South Carolina’s and Israel’s economies,” said Jonathan Zucker (The InterTech Group), chairman of the South Carolina-Israel Collaboration and leader of the mission.
The focus of the mission will be on the six industry clusters that are priorities for South Carolina: * Biomedical * Materials * Sustainable Systems * Transportation * Defense / Homeland Security * Insurance / Health IT. However, South Carolinians with interests outside these clusters but having a well defined business purpose may be accepted to join the delegation. For details and to register, click here.
